SAE INSTITUTE

 [ DE ]

One of the world’s leading creative media institutions, SAE builds on a proud tradition of exceptional post-secondary education spanning 54 campuses in 28 countries.

For the location in Zurich, we were asked to develop a contemporary concept for the existing meeting zone in the center of the existing premises. The 230m2 room is divided into three main areas.
The Edit Area is the largest area and is actually a coworking space for the students of various departments. This area, with its open architecture and the distinctive and coherent table, is intended to promote interaction between the students and to encourage project-based collaborations.
The supervisor counter is to be called the school's reception desk and is used as an outlet for lending equipment of all kinds and as a starting point for the students to get advice on concrete problems.
The two Cutting Rooms are optimized for the sound and moving image processing and form the third area of this comprehensive conversion project. Inside, lighting and acoustics are in line with today's standards in the industry, which will enhance professional and efficient work.

The floor, made of special cement, underlines the industrial character of the building and now unifies the entire impression in this area of the school.
Furthermore two Info screens belong to the concept where current information is published for the students. The furnishing and lighting is also to be developed and built by us and is therefore also part of the order.

Due to a change of strategy of the SAE Institute this project had unfortunately to be put on hold for the time being. The client and  we like the project still very much, that’s why it has not yet been terminated.
